As a teen you are discovering who you are, so have fun and explore with your wardrobe. There are a few things to keep in mind when experimenting to find your style.
- Practice good hygiene. No matter what you wear, make sure you and your clothes are clean, regardless of your style choice.
- Teeth and nails matter. If you wear nail polish, keep it fresh and chip free. If not make sure they are trimmed or filed and clean.
- Have fun, experiment with styles to find what suits you. You can express your personality and beliefs through your clothes.
- Wear the right size. Your clothes need to fit properly. If you wear clothes that are too big, you make look sloppy and too tight looks trashy. This does not mean your mini skirt can’t hug your curves and show off your long legs, it will in the right size. You can look good and be comfortable too. You may be proud of your new cleavage, but leave a little to the imagination and don’t show it all.
- Jewelry can dress up or down your outfit, but make sure you stay with the same type, don’t wear a gold necklace and plastic bracelets. Though, if you are looking to create a new trend, you might try it.
- Don’t be afraid to try new things. Being a teen is a time to explore your sense of style and fashion. You can wear all black one week, and then wear bright colors and patterns the next. You are too you to get stuck in a fashion rut. Once you find the style that works for you, experience within that style with color, patterns, and accessories.
